The UWI Action Sports Society was initially founded in 2006 under the name ‘The UWI alternative sports society’.
The society functions more as a means for person within the University that participate in Action Sports to make links; – as such, the society linked several skaters, surfers and BMX riders from not only within the University but also within the Country.
Currently, the society is focused on the planning of it’s third major event as well as setting guidelines for the practice of actions sports on University premises (this practice has been greatly compromised by the significant increase in students).
Membership is open to any student of the University of the West Indies and any person that is interested in the activities of the society.
Members get access to give-aways, links to other athletes, help in promoting their videos and access to secret skate-spots and exclusive events.
Members are expected to follow the rules set aside by the society whenever skateboarding or riding BMX on the University premises.
