Regional UWI Guilds stand with St Augustine

Several regional UWI Guild of Students have expressed their support to the students at the UWI St Augustine campus who took action this Thursday seeking to address the growing issues and concerns at the University.

A Town Hall meeting carded for 1:30pm at the Student Activity Center escalated into a peaceful protest that resulted in two student activists being arrested.

The Cave Hill Guild issued the following statement via their official Instagram account last night where they expressed that they stand in solidarity with the STA Guild of Students. They called upon administration to launch a full investigation into the many sexual assaults and robbery incidents at their campus.

The UWI Mona Guild of Students also expressed their concern over what they refered to as a “ghastly incident” and urged UWI administration to recognize that security is a right and not a privilege.

The UWI Open Campus Guild have also shown their support via Instagram, and in their post they urge Campus Administration to swiftly address these issues and incidences.
