Hike to Caura Waterfall and Cave

Last weekend, the UWI Hiking Club journeyed on a two-part hike to the Caura Cave followed by a trek to the Caura Waterfall. The entrance to the Caura Cave is extremely narrow, but once inside there are several huge chambers to explore. The last scientific expedition to the cave identified three bat species, but little research has been done.

The waterfall makes use of an old trail that leads to Morne La Croix and winds through abandoned cocoa estate. Few visitors to Caura ever take the time to journey to this hidden waterfall making it keeping it pristine and private.
