Breast Cancer Awareness on Campus

The Breast Cancer Awareness Month, marked in countries across the world every October, helps to increase attention and support for the awareness, early detection and treatment as well as palliative care of this disease.

Clubs are always at the forefront of Breast Cancer Awareness Initiatives at the UWI Saint Augustine Campus. The UWI Islamic Society hosts their annual Pink Hijab Day, the Rotaract Club of UWI/Piarco centers their fund-raising and awareness-drive around cake with their event Cupcakes for Cancer and a host of other clubs spend the month raising funds and awareness.

Here are some pictures from last week’s “Pink Hijab Day” as well as the Guild of Student’s “Think Pink” Initiative.
