La Romaine Build with Habitat for Humanity

We recently accompanied the Habitat for Humanity UWI Campus Chapter on one od the many builds that they participate in throughout the academic year.

Launched on April 22nd 2010, UWI Campus Chapter is part of a family of campus chapters all over the world, a family dedicated to easing housing problems and developing fully-functional housing which is affordable to those in need.

As the first of its kind in the entire Caribbean, UWI Campus Chapter is a student-led group which operates in affiliation with Habitat for Humanity Trinidad and Tobago, which is a non-profit organisation and an extension of Habitat for Humanity International.

The ultimate intent is to accomplish all four functions of Habitat for Humanity International:

– Building

– Fundraising

– Advocacy

– Educating

Each function stands as a pillar upon which the Campus Chapter runs and as a catalyst for the goals we hope to execute in the name of volunteerism and community development.
