UWI HSU Garba 2015

The UWI Hindu Society is once again hosting their popular annual Garba Celebration.

Garba is a folk dance. It originated in the state of Gujarati. Garba is celebrated during Navratri. Modern day Garba is also followed by Dandiya Raas. Dandiya Raas is a type of traditional Gujarati dance in which pairs of dancers hold a short stick in each hand and strike one another’s sticks in time to the music.

The festival is scheduled for the 18th of October. Check out the facebook event for more information.
