After journeying to Acono Falls on Saturday, we went with the UWI Biological Society to the island of Gaspar Grande to tour the Gasparee Caves, a natural limestone cave system with a mysterious pool at its base. We learnt about some of the more significant stalactites and stalagmites in the cave as well as the different vegetation on the island due to it being comprised of limestone. The rest of the day was spent swimming in a secluded bay on Monos Island. The Society’s next project will be a beach clean-up. Join their group on Facebook for more information.
