Be “Spirited Away” at Daaga Auditorium

On Friday 19th September, the Highly Acclaimed Japanese animated film “Spirited Away” will be shown at the Daaga Auditorium at 6:00 pm. The special screening is made possible by several groups including the Embassy of Japan in Trinidad and Tobago and the Center for Language and Learning. The movie should finish at 9:00 pm and entry is free.
“Spirited Away” tells the tale of a young girl called Chihiro who unknowingly enters a magical world with her parents. The movie contains critical commentary on modern Japanese society concerning generational conflicts, the struggle with dissolving traditional culture and customs within a global society, and environmental pollution.
Some episodes of “Japan Video Topics” will be shown before the movie for even more exposure to Japanese culture.
