Celebrate Earth Hour 2012 at UWI

Earth hour is a global event targeted at fighting climate change through inspiration and education.
Millions of people for the hour agree to take off the lights. The visual message is one that opens the mind to a life less reliant on electricity and even more than this, it shows how we can work together to make an actual visual change.

Last year 5,200 cities and 135 countries part took. Trinidad and Tobago for the first time last year, was one of those proud countries.

This year’s event shall include music, dance and poetry. It wil also create a networking opportunity for environmentalists and those curious about living more energy efficient lives. Guests include the EMA Youth Ambassadors, the CYEN and various Environmental groups associated with the UWI St. Agustine Campus.

We anticipate a beautiful night filed with emotion and motion, camaraderie and candle light, inspiration and change. As Gandhi said, “Be the change you want to see in the world.” Let us all come together and change to world for the better. See you there.
